Positive Affirmations

All that we think, brood, talk fall in the category of Affirmations. All our activities are affirming certain things. Then it is better to Affirm in positive way. Too often we think in negative terminologies. Negative affirmations only create more negative results. Instead of saying ‘I don’t want to be obese’ it’s better to affirm positively as ‘I want to have healthy body’. The more we dwell on what we don’t want, the more of it will be created!! The science is ‘What we focus grows’ – whether positive or negative results ….

 

 

Written affirmation

We have already seen above how written affirmation can be used both as diagnostic tool and also as a therapeutic method.

 

 

Positive thinking

Before starting any new assignments or small works we can think about positive results. It is better to think about the positive results because if we are not pondering on positive ones, the mind will be pondering on negative results.

 

 

To discover one’s own personal affirmation we use some general affirmations as a tool. General affirmations are used to bring all the inner obstacles towards feeling Security, self acceptance, self-confidence, self love and love for others. Thus we first work with these basic affirmations that focus on our common weak points; security and self-affirmation.

General affirmations:

On Security

I feel safe and secure in every situation.

I feel sure and confident of me with whomever I meet.

 

On Self-acceptance

I accept myself totally and completely in every situation.

I approve myself exactly as I am.

I love others and myself regardless of their feelings.

I recognize and appreciate all my activities.

I do not need the approval of others to be happy.

 

On Self-confidence

I can handle whatever comes in my way.

I am responsible for the reality I experience.

I can succeed in any endeavor that is important enough to me.

I have everything I need at every moment to be happy.

Life’s experiences are exactly what I need in order to grow more aware.

 

On Self love

I love me in every situation.

I love the way I am.

I forgive myself for my ignorant reactions to people.

I have the right to say no without fearing to lose the others’ love.

I am lovable and loved.

 

Love for others

I forgive others for their ignorant behavior towards me.

I see others as evolving spiritual beings and not as personalities.

Others have the right to say, to dress, to have their lifestyles and preferences as they feel.
